This Homemade Catalina French Dressing is so simple and full of that sweet tangy flavor that we all enjoy on our salad.

To be honest, I didn’t know the difference between regular french dressing and the Catalina french dressing.

So I started to research more on french dressing and here’s what I found out:

Regular french dressing has a pale orange to red color. It’s creamy and with a slight hint of mustard.

The Catalina French Dressing is a bright red and is less creamy.

There are many different varieties of french dressings but they all have the same base ingredients:

ketchup, onion, vinegar, oil, and paprika.

Some recipes add additional ingredients such as mayonnaise, worcestershire sauce, or mustard.

This french dressing was a recipe that I found in a old cookbook. The recipe was a little unhealthy so I decided to modify it to fit our lifestyle.

I had to eliminate the worcestershire sauce since this is made from anchovies.

Also replacing the regular sugar with a real maple syrup.

And changing the vegetable oil to a healthier avocado oil.

I also made some adjustments to the spices that are in the recipe.

This recipe is so simple, vegan, gluten free, and uses simple ingredients. You will never have to buy another bottle of french dressing for your family again!
