A Vegan Thousand Island Dressing that is sweet, tangy and so easy to make!
This dressing uses simple ingredients and it will take no time at all to whip it up, actually less than 10 minutes.
Not only is it simple and easy, but also so inexpensive to make at home.
What’s in thousand island dressing?
Thousand island dressing is made with a mayonnaise base and finely chopped ingredients such as pickles, onions, peppers, olives, eggs, parsley, chives, and garlic.
Is pre-made thousand island dressing vegan and healthy?
Well I guess it depends on where you shop, most pre-made thousand island dressings are not vegan.
Most of the time I have found that the healthier pre-made dressings do have eggs added, which of coarse is not vegan.
And if it has no eggs, it is loaded with unhealthy ingredients.
This is why I came up with my own homemade Vegan Thousand Island Dressing, not only to add the healthy ingredients, but to customize it the way my family likes it.
What’s in Vegan Thousand Island Dressing?
- Mayonnaise – The mayo is the base of this dressing. Use your favorite mayo.
- Ketchup – Ketchup gives the dressing it’s color, plus it’s sweet and tangy flavor. No ketchup? Try adding tomato sauce as the replacement.
- Pickles – I personally love bread and butter pickles for my thousand island dressing. But a dill or sweet relish will work just as well.
- Brine – This is the liquid that the pickles are in, it adds just the right amount of sweetness to the dressing.
How to make this easy dressing
