This Cherry Ginger Tea is a wonderful heart healthy beverage that can be enjoyed in the morning or in the evening.
I am a huge lover of all kinds of tea, I personally like tea better than coffee, Yeah I said it, better than coffee!
Tea is now my pick-me-up in the morning as well as a relaxing drink in the evening.
It is a staple in our house, with a lot of varieties from caffeinated to caffeine-free.
To keep things interesting, I come up with different ways to enjoy these teas.
That’s when we started experimenting with adding juice, spices, and even fresh herbs.
As a Morning Tea
In this tea I added cherry juice, ginger, cinnamon, sliced apple or citrus, and fresh mint leaves along with black tea.
Don’t like black tea? Try green, white, or a blended tea.
A Relaxing Evening Tea
The calming cherry juice will give you a better night’s sleep and taste great with any relaxing herbal tea.
Add extra’s such as cinnamon and a slice of apple.
Try a chamomile, lavender, lemon balm, peppermint, or any of the blended herbal teas with this tea for a relaxing evening beverage.
Ingredients needed for this tea
- Tea – Try a wide variety of herbal teas, black teas, white teas, and green teas.
- Ginger – Fresh ginger has a slight spicy, earthy flavor, with just a hint of citrus. It is a wonderful addition because of it’s many healthy benefits, such as aiding in digestion.
- Tart Cherry Juice – I used an unsweetened tart cherry juice for this tea. This super food has so many health benefits, such as reducing inflammation to improve sleep.
- Cinnamon – Ground cinnamon, for that sweet, earthy, warming fragrance and taste. Cinnamon has a lot of the same health benefits as cherry juice, so give this a try with your tea, for that extra healthy boost.
- Water
- Garnish – I went with a apple, a opal apple to be exact. But this can be a slice of a citrus fruit, berries, or fresh herbs, such as mint or basil. Add all of these or just a couple, experiment.
