This Strawberry Rhubarb Infused Water is a refreshing, unsweetened alternative to your plain boring water.
In this recipe I used both fresh strawberries and rhubarb, blended together for a tart and lightly sweet flavor without any added sugar.
So what is infused water?
Infused water is a combination of fruits, herbs and vegetables blended together into plain water.
That’s it, no sugar, just fresh produce added to plain water making your water more enjoyable!
With infused waters you also can reap some of the benefits from the nutrients of the fruits and vegetables.
And not to mention you are also drinking more fresh water, keeping you hydrated.
You can also customize your waters to whatever you have on hand, making them very cost efficient.
These waters are so simple to make and can also be made ahead of time and enjoyed through out your day.
Ingredients needed for this recipe
- Rhubarb – This seasonal tart fruit pairs perfectly with fresh strawberries.
- Strawberries – A soft, bright colored, and sweet seasonal berry with a hint of tartness.
- Water – Blending everything together.
- Ice
- Sparkling Water – I used a plain unflavored sparkling water for this drink. If you would like to add a little hint of other flavors to this drink, try adding a flavored sparkling water.
How to make this Strawberry Rhubarb Infused Water
Clean and remove the stems from the fresh strawberries and add to a blender.
Wash, remove, and discard the leaf from the rhubarb stems, cut into smaller pieces, add to the blender.
Add water, pulse to combine, and let this sit for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Place a fine mesh strainer over a quart jar and pour the mixture into the strainer, separating the solids from the liquid.
Save the solids for later use or discard.
Pour the mixture into a small pitcher or quart jar and store in the refrigerator when ready to serve.
When ready to serve, add ice, pour about a half of a glass of the mixture and then add sparkling water.
Garnish with fresh strawberries or sliced rhubarb and enjoy!
