What makes these Vegan Dirty Blondie Brownies so dirty? It’s the cinnamon!
These blondie brownies still have the same memorable taste as all the other blondie brownies you have tried over the years.
Besides the added cinnamon, I also replaced the egg with Tofu.
I love using tofu in most of my baked desserts. It’s always given me the best results for an egg substitute!
You can expect a soft/cakey texture with no after taste, and a beautiful golden color to your baked goods with tofu.
If you would like to change these up a bit, try adding your favorite chopped nuts or different types of chips.
There are so many different ways to serve up these Vegan Dirty Blondie Brownies.
The most popular in our home is with a bowl of your favorite ice cream – or vegan ice cream!
Or why not just serve them on the side of a nice flavorful hot cup of coffee or hot cocoa!
Vegan Dirty Blondie Brownies
Ingredients
4 Tbsp Olive Oil
4 Tbsp Vegan Margarine
1 Cup Brown Sugar
7 oz. or Half a block of Soft Tofu
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Real Vanilla Extract
2 Tbsp Hot Water
2 1/2 Cup Flour
1 Cup Chocolate Chips
Topping
2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
1 tsp Cinnamon
Instructions
Drain the tofu. Wrap into a linen towel before starting anything in the recipe. That will give the tofu enough time to completely drain. About 10 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Grease a 13 x 9 glass baking dish with a vegan margarine.
Place the Tofu into a mixing bowl along with the Olive Oil, Margarine, and Brown Sugar. Blend until creamy.
Add the remaining ingredients (leaving out the chocolate chips), slowly add the flour 1/2 cup at a time.
After the dough is well mixed, stir in the chocolate chips.
Spread the dough into the baking dish.
Mix 2 Tbsp brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, sprinkle over the top of the brownies.
Place into oven and bake for about 25 to 30 minutes, checking with a toothpick in the center of the bars, baking times can vary.
Once the bars are done it should have a light brown color around the edges, pull from the oven and move to a cooling rack.
Once cooled, cut into bars and serve your Vegan Dirty Blondie Brownies with a hot beverage of your choice or with a nice glass of your favorite ice cold beverage.
