Frozen Hibiscus Lemonade

Last Updated on July 31, 2022

This Frozen Hibiscus Lemonade is a refreshing tart summer treat!

So simple to make with only a few ingredients needed to make this summer drink.

Just brew the hibiscus tea, freeze into ice trays ahead of time and it will be ready to whip up into a frosty slushy treat!

Why Hibiscus?

I personally love the flavor of hibiscus, it is tart with a slight earthy cranberry flavor.

Oh and the beautiful bold red color of hibiscus adds brightness to any drink.

Do you have to blend this drink in a blender?

No, you can add the hibiscus ice cubes just as they are to cool any drink.

What can you add the hibiscus ice cubes to?

I love to add these to lemonade, ice tea, and to any flavored sparkling water.

Blend the ice cubes or not, it is your choice.

Ingredients needed for the drink

  • Hibiscus – A hibiscus tea bag or the loose hibiscus flower steeped in hot water for about 10 to 20 minutes. The longer the tea is steeped the darker and richer the flavor of the tea.
  • Lemonade – A regular lemon lemonade works the best, but you can try a variety of flavored lemonade if you wish. Or you can make your own lemonade for this drink as well. I personally love a slightly sweetened organic lemonade for my Frozen Hibiscus Lemonade.
  • Garnish – Garnish on the side or on top of the slush with fresh fruits, such as lemon, strawberries, blueberries, or any fruit you prefer. Or why not try fresh herbs such as any variety mint, lavender, or one of my favorites, pineapple sage!
