How many have had mushy and bitter cooked or steamed Brussels sprout?

That was me too, so I avoided them for years, just because of that experience.

But then I got to be thinking, what if I bake them with real maple syrup?

And that is how I came up with this simple and easy recipe!

This recipe is easy to prep, uses only a few ingredients, and it bakes up in as little as 30 to 40 minutes!

You will love the caramelized maple syrup on top of the baked crisp golden brown Brussels sprouts.

Ingredients needed for these Brussels sprouts

  • Brussels Sprouts – Brussels sprouts are a leafy green vegetable that resemble a miniature cabbage. These edible buds are closely related to broccoli, cabbage, kale, and kohlrabi.
  • Oil – I used an avocado oil in this recipe, I like the buttery and mild flavor that this oil gives to the sprouts.
  • Maple Syrup – Only use real maple syrup for this recipe. The maple syrup gives a slight maple, sweet caramel and vanilla flavor that caramelizes when baked.
  • Seasonings – Onion powder, salt, and pepper add just a bit more flavor.
  • Minced Garlic – The mild garlic flavor will spread throughout the dish.
