Ingredients
  

  • 2 8 oz. Tubs Fresh Mushrooms Cleaned and sliced. Use any type of mushroom you like.
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil

Mix these ingredients together in a small bowl.

  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1 Fresh Onion Or 2 tsp of Powdered Onion.
  • 1 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 2 Tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 1/4 tsp Red Chili Pepper Flakes
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel Seed
  • 2 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Tbsp Real Maple Syrup
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Clean and slice the mushrooms and onions.
  • Add oil, mushrooms, and onions to a medium sized fry pan and saute for about 7 minutes or until the they caramelize and slightly brown.
  • In a small bowl, add the water, tomato paste, maple syrup, all the spices, and mix well.
  • Next add the small bowl of ingredients to the fry pan with the mushrooms, stir while cooking for about another 7 minutes.
  • Once the mushrooms are done add to what ever you would normally add pepperoni too.

How to use these Vegan Pepperoni Mushrooms

  • Fill a calzone.
  • Add these to your favorite sandwich.
  • Use as a topping for a vegan pizza.
  • Or add to a hotdish.
