Spiced Pumpkin Butter

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Cups Pureed Pumpkin
  • 1/2 Cup Unsweetened Apple Sauce
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 Cup Real Maple Syrup
  • 1/2 tsp Real Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Pinch Ground Clove
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1 Pinch Salt

Instructions
 

  • Combine all the ingredients into a deep medium size sauce pan.
  • Bring to boil and turn down heat to a simmer.
  • Stir frequently while simmering.
  • Cook for 30 to 40 minutes, or until your desired consistency.
  • Once the pumpkin butter is to the thickness you desire, allow it to cool before transferring to a airtight container.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or store in the freezer for up to a year.

Notes

Helpful tips
The total cooking time can vary depending on how watery the pumpkin puree was at the start and how thick you would like the pumpkin butter. Also the butter will thicken as the butter cools, and once it is placed in the refrigerator.
