Ingredients
Method
- Mix together the yeast, sugar, and 1/4 of a cup of warm water (between 105° and 115° F) in a large mixing bowl and set aside for 5 minutes.
- Next add one cup of warm water ( between 105° - 115°), oil, salt, flour and blend until well combined.
- Continue to knead the dough for about 8 to 10 minute in the bowl, adding flour as needed to prevent stickiness, until it forms a nice smooth soft ball.
- After the dough has formed a nice soft ball, pour 1 Tbsp of oil into the bowl, roll the dough in the oil to completely coat the ball.
- Cover the bowl loosely with a towel or plastic wrap.
- Leave the bowl in a warm spot for about 4 hours to let the dough rise. The dough should double in size. ( I have let it rise all day. If you do this, check on it during the day.)
- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- Divide the dough ball into half (if making 2 pizza's). I make 2 pizza's with this recipe, one is vegan and the second pizza is vegetarian.
- Prepare the baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Place the dough balls on the parchment paper.
- Stretch the dough balls out to the size and shape you prefer.
- Place the crust into the oven and bake for about 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, remove the crust from the oven to add your toppings.
Topping your Vegan Pizza
- Drizzle and spread the oil onto the crust, sprinkle the seasoning on top and finish with your favorite pizza sauce.
- Add your favorite toppings, such as sauteed mushrooms, peppers, onions, garlic, olives, tomatoes, artichokes, spinach, meat alternatives and/or cheese.
- Place the pizzas back into the oven for another 10 Minutes or until the cheese melts.
- Once the cheese has melted, remove from the oven.
- Cut your pizza and serve while hot.
