Method

  1. Mix together the yeast, sugar, and 1/4 of a cup of warm water (between 105° and 115° F) in a large mixing bowl and set aside for 5 minutes.
  2. Next add one cup of warm water ( between 105° - 115°), oil, salt, flour and blend until well combined.
  3. Continue to knead the dough for about 8 to 10 minute in the bowl, adding flour as needed to prevent stickiness, until it forms a nice smooth soft ball.
  4. After the dough has formed a nice soft ball, pour 1 Tbsp of oil into the bowl, roll the dough in the oil to completely coat the ball.
  5. Cover the bowl loosely with a towel or plastic wrap.
  6. Leave the bowl in a warm spot for about 4 hours to let the dough rise. The dough should double in size. ( I have let it rise all day. If you do this, check on it during the day.)
  7. Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  8. Divide the dough ball into half (if making 2 pizza's). I make 2 pizza's with this recipe, one is vegan and the second pizza is vegetarian.
  9. Prepare the baking sheets with parchment paper.
  10. Place the dough balls on the parchment paper.
  11. Stretch the dough balls out to the size and shape you prefer.
  12. Place the crust into the oven and bake for about 10 minutes.
  13. After 10 minutes, remove the crust from the oven to add your toppings.
Topping your Vegan Pizza
  1. Drizzle and spread the oil onto the crust, sprinkle the seasoning on top and finish with your favorite pizza sauce.
  2. Add your favorite toppings, such as sauteed mushrooms, peppers, onions, garlic, olives, tomatoes, artichokes, spinach, meat alternatives and/or cheese.
  3. Place the pizzas back into the oven for another 10 Minutes or until the cheese melts.
  4. Once the cheese has melted, remove from the oven.
  5. Cut your pizza and serve while hot.
