These Baked Beet Fries are so easy to make and so full of flavor.
But why beet fries?
Beet fries are a healthy nutritious side dish or snack and also a tasty alternative to a potato french fry.
They contain fiber and betalains which are known to help reduce inflammation.
Baking them in the oven instead of frying them is an even healthier option.
They have a unique sweet yet earthy flavor that will compliment any dish.
There is also so many different varieties and colors of beets that can be used to make the fries.
Try red, golden, pink, and even stripped beets, switch it up or blend together different beets each time you make the fries.
The best way to serve these fries is with a creamy dip.
I love to serve my beet fries with my Homemade Sriracha Aioli.
But they are also tasty with any of my homemade aioli’s, like my Homemade Lemon Dill Aioli, Vegan Cilantro Lime Aioli, or my Sun Dried Tomato Basil Aioli.
Ingredients for the fries
- Beets – Any color of beet will work great for these fries.
- Oil – I used olive oil in my recipe. Use your favorite oil.
- Masa Harina – I used this fine golden corn flour on these fries.
- Salt – I just added salt, you can eliminate or add other seasonings with the salt.
How to make Baked Beet Fries
Preheat the oven to 375° F.
Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Peel and slice the beets into about 1/4 inch thick fries.
Place the beets into a medium sized mixing bowl, add salt, 1 Tbsp oil, and the masa harina, stir until all the fries are covered.
Arrange the fries in a single layer on the parchment paper.
Slide the fries into the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, remove from the oven, drizzle another Tbsp of oil over the fries.
Place the fries back into the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the beets are soft, but not mushy.
Once the fries are done, remove from the oven and serve immediately.
Serve the fries with a creamy dip of your choice.
