Equipment

  • 1 Free-standing mixer or hand mixer

Ingredients
  

Cake

  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 3 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1/3 Cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 3/4 Cup Oil I used avocado oil.
  • 2 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 Cup Warm Water
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon

Frosting

  • 1/2 Cup Vegan Margarine
  • 1 Pinch Salt
  • 1 lb. Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 Cup Plant Based Milk I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk.
  • 1 tsp Espresso Powder

Instructions
 

How to make the cake.

  • Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add all the cake ingredients and stir until everything is well combined.
  • Pour into a 13 x 9 glass baking dish.
  • Place into the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Check by lightly pushing on the top, it should bounce back.
  • Once the cake is done, remove from the oven and let the cake completely cool before frosting.

How to make the frosting.

  • In a medium mixing bowl, add all the ingredients and blend with a hand or free standing mixer until creamy.
  • Spread the frosting on the cake, cut and enjoy!
