A refreshing Sparkling Holiday Punch full of vibrant colors from the juice, fruit and herbs make this a must have addition to a party!
Garnishing with the bright greens of mint, spearmint or fresh rosemary makes it so festive, making it perfect for the holidays.
I remember during holiday get-togethers seeing a brightly colored punch on the table for the guests to enjoy.
But I also remember almost always being so overly sweet, Yuck!
For years I would stay away from any punch that was served at a party, not knowing if the punch was overly sweet or not.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good punch as much as anyone else, but I am not a fan of the over sweetened punch.
I love to experiment with old recipes to find new exciting and refreshing variations, and this was high on my list for the holidays.
I wanted the same taste as the old punch that I remembered but without the over the top sweetness.
Still wanting that same tartness from the punch only with the natural sweetness of the fruit and unsweetened juices.
Alcohol or no alcohol?
Personally I love this punch without alcohol, the tartness of the citrus and cranberries with the tingle of the sparkling water make this punch a treat.
But if you decide to make this punch with an alcohol, try a rum, wine, sparkling wine or a champagne.
No punch bowl needed for this punch, just serve in a classic glass pitcher and enjoy!
Ingredients used in this punch
- Cranberry Juice – This can be a concentrate or a pure juice. I love unsweetened pure juice for my punch. The cranberry juice can also be a blended juice if you prefer.
- Pineapple Juice – Unsweetened pure pineapple juice is my preference.
- Orange Juice – Personally I like to use the orange juice not from concentrate for my punch. Use what you would like for yours.
- Citrus Fruit – Add to the punch sliced oranges, lemons, and limes.
- Cranberries – Fresh cranberries.
- Sparkling Water or Juice – For a non alcohol version I like to use a club soda for my punch, but a sparkling non alcohol wine or a sparkling juice blends nicely too.
- Garnish – Fresh leaves of mint, spearmint, or rosemary.
Optional Ingredients
- Pomegranate – Pomegranate juice and/or pomegranate arils.
- Fresh Strawberries
- Pineapple Chunks
- Maple Syrup – For more sweetness.
- Alcohol – This can be a rum, wine, a sparkling wine or even a champagne.
